Lead Abatement

Lead is a toxic substance that can affect people of any age. It accumulates in the body so even small amounts can pose a health hazard over time. It is especially harmful to children and pregnant women.

Lead paint was still manufactured in Australia up until the late 1960’s. Many older buildings still contain lead paint even though it may be covered by layers of more recent non lead based paint. Pure Contracting can provide an encapsulation or total removal solution depending on the project specification and client requirements.

Encapsulation involves the process of sealing the lead-painted surface by the direct application of an encapsulant such as a specialised high build paint system.

A total removal solution on the other hand usually involves the removal of lead paint with the use of chemical paint strippers which soften and swell the paint allowing it to be easily removed.

Lead dust is typically found in the ceiling cavities of older buildings where it has accumulated over many years as a result of air pollution from industrial processes, building renovations and as a by-product from the combustion of leaded petrol.

Pure Contracting uses specialised equipment and experienced personnel that work in strict compliance with industry best practice procedures to remove and dispose of lead dust.

Mould Remediation

Mould is common in both the indoor and outdoor environment and grows wherever there is moisture. Conditions causing mould can be prevented or corrected by:

  • Keeping humidity levels as low as you can – use air conditioners during humid months
  • Ensuring there is adequate ventilation especially in bathrooms and kitchens
  • Removing and replacing water damaged materials
  • Using mould inhibitors in paints

At Pure Contracting we provide mould remediation solutions to both the commercial and industrial markets. We use best practice methods developed under the guidelines of the internationally recognised Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Standards.

We work collaboratively with specialist hygienists to provide quality outcomes for our clients.

Site Remediation

Our team has expertise in on-site management including the construction of containment cells together with the resources to remove and dispose of contaminated material safely to landfill facilities.
